Compsoft is to showcase a number of its latest innovations at the independently organised Equinox Developer Forum on July 16, 2009.
As part of its ongoing commitment to research and development, Compsoft has explored how Equinox can integrate with some of the emerging technologies including Microsoft’s Silverlight and the Apple iPhone development environment. Compsoft has been developing in Silverlight for a while, mainly creating demonstration applications. Recently and in response to an Equinox-using customer’s requirement for a visual display of sales data, Compsoft took the opportunity to use Silverlight in a project developed to display live data from an Equinox database.
Additionally, and also in response to demand, Compsoft has been looking at the use of iPhone technology for businesses. To experiment with the development framework, Compsoft took an internal Equinox application and created an iPhone application that enabled staff to update information held in the database remotely from their iPhones.
Compsoft is excited by the results experienced with the iPhone and Silverlight projects and the potential impact on the use of Equinox. It is planned for demonstrations and discussions around these technologies to be held at the Developer Forum, in addition to the showcases by Equinox developers Clyde Computing and Estateman.
