Alton, Hampshire, 12 December 2005.Compsoft's developers create an ASP.NET application to facilitate the presentation of a web site in multiple languages.
Mirago was established as an independent company in 2000 and its online marketing products are used by a variety of brands including Kelkoo and Cheapflights.co.uk. In addition, Internet partners earn revenue by integrating Mirago products on their websites. These partners include Infospace, GenieKnows and Wales Index.
Ranked 11th in the Sunday Times Tech-Track fastest growing technology companies in 2005, Mirago carries out business in countries throughout Europe and beyond. It is essential, therefore, that the site is available in a number of different languages. Whilst a temporary solution existed, it did not fulfil the requirements or support continued growth. Leveraging the experience gained through translation of it`s market-leading law enforcement software, Obelisk, Compsoft was asked to refine and complete the project.
Development was undertaken in the
Microsoft.NET framework V1.1 using VB.NET and uses a Microsoft SQL Server2000 database to store static content for the site, initially in five languages; English, French, German, Swedish and Italian.
The completed project implemented a scalable architecture that would allow Mirago to add further languages and content as the business expands to include new countries, without further development being required.
Our developers quickly understood Mirago's unique business processes,objectives and how this project supported them. This meant that the developers `hit the ground running` and were able to complete the project on time, to the clients satisfaction. This project was critical to the companies continued support of existing customers across Europe and is essential to it`s continued European growth.
