Compsoft has agreed a contract with Tamil television broadcaster, Sun TV to integrate seamless online banking with its existing Equinox-based CRM system.
In May 2004, using an existing CRM application based on it`s Equinox database product, Compsoft created a bespoke business application to manage both customer accounts, transaction and subscriptions management to the channels Sun TV broadcasts.
As Sun TV's business has grown, the number of subscribers, and therefore transactions has increased significantly. Subscription transactions are currently carried out manually with the firms bankers, HSBC. Having gained experience in working with the HSBC ePayment API in an earlier project, Compsoft identified significant efficiency savings for Sun TV using this method.
The project involves using a bespoke web services component, enabling Equinox to call a compiled Microsoft .NET component that communicates in real time with the HSBC ePayment API, securely exchanging transaction data and verifying that each transaction is successful, posting data directly back in to the Equinox CRM system.
As this process is transparent to the user, transactions are now carried out in a fraction of the time a manual process currently takes and also allow Sun TV to carry out otherwise time consuming batch transactions for subscriptions to it's broadcast service.
