London Clubs (Casinos) has agreed a contract with Compsoft to help develop its internal systems.
"For the most part, our systems are okay," muses Charles Rayer, London Clubs` IT Manager, "but we had a few niggling issues with some development work undertaken internally on our membership system. Although it`s clearly a legacy system, Compsoft were able to help us out with some short term fixes more quickly than our expertise would allow."
The application in question is an AS400 system which had been modified over the years, creating a Visual Basic GUI along the way. "Our developer was quickly able to identify the cause of the problem, resolved it and had time to address a number of other issues" said Mark Tillison, Compsoft`s Head of Business Development. "The flexible consulting contract we`ve agreed with Charles is tremendous value. We were able to maintain a competitive rate through securing the annual contract."
London Clubs is currently making headlines thanks to merger discussions with Stanley`s Casinos, a union which would create a o700 million gaming giant. Owning and operating casinos for over 40 years, London Clubs has casinos in London, Egypt, and South Africa and has been publicly quoted on the London Stock Exchange since 1994. The Group operates wholly owned casinos in the United Kingdom and joint ventures and management contracts overseas.
Compsoft has agreed flexible consulting contracts with a growing number of clients in recent months, the brainchild of Mark Tillison. "It`s a flexible variation in the way our clients are able to access our services. Usually, we`d be committing to a fixed cost for developing an application but that`s not always practical, particularly for ad-hoc development such as this, and especially where we have no prior knowledge of the client`s system."
