Equinox version 5 will for the first time enable developers to automate the process of translating their applications into other languages.
Equinox applications on opening will look for a comma delimited resource file containing the text to translate and its corresponding translation. Each word or phrase will only need to be entered once, however many times they appear in the application. And whenever a parameter file is saved (either individually or through the Resave Application feature), a file is automatically produced containing all translatable items.
All items throughout the application can be translated, including messages, menus, radio and combo boxes, and system or user-generated dialogs. Furthermore, any text within the method language that is marked with the `#` symbol will also be translated.
Translatable items are shown untranslated at design time, allowing a developer to work on a translated application without knowing the language.
